Both artists and scientists have a profound influence on society. Artists contribute to the mental well-being of individuals by capturing their era and culture for future generations, and offer entertainment through their creations. Conversely, scientists make invaluable contributions in areas like diet and medicine. In my developing country, Vietnam, I believe that the contributions of scientists are highly esteemed. While artists play a critical role in calming people’s minds, the accomplishments of scientists carry greater significance towards societal advancement.
This is a significant aspect that allows individuals to unwind and feel calm, particularly in today’s fast-paced lifestyles. For instance, when individuals are driving home after long hours at the office, they typically play music in their car to listen to their favorite singer’s songs because these songs help them relax and arrive home with a refreshed mindset. Additionally, artists can assist future generations in gaining a deeper understanding of the past through their abundant works. In addition to artists’ influence on people’s mental well-being, scientists contribute to enhancing the physical well-being of society members.
Scientists have made great progress in enhancing people’s lives by eradicating hunger through the creation of genetically modified grain seeds. Moreover, they have achieved notable breakthroughs in medicine, empowering individuals to manage and treat previously untreatable diseases from only fifty years ago.
In 1919, during the Hispanic epidemic, numerous individuals were afflicted with the flu. However, the availability of vaccinations has enabled us to prevent such calamities in the present day. While artists make substantial contributions, I believe that scientists hold greater importance in Vietnam. In my homeland, an agricultural nation, inventions significantly influence work productivity.
Moreover, a significant number of people in that region experience poverty, leading to a significantly diminished quality of life. Consequently, the endeavors of scientists are crucial since individuals cannot attain happiness solely by enjoying melodious tunes while enduring hunger.
