Customers are attracted to a business by many factors but the most important ones are product value, product suitability, and product function. The factors here that apply to McDonalds are mostly product value and maybe product suitability. Customers are bothered about how much McDonalds charge them for the burgers, because if McDonalds charge too high then people would not be attracted to McDonalds. E. g. a burger for $4. However, on contrast if you charge too low then people would think your product is of a very low quality and would not be that interested in coming to McDonalds.

And for all these specific reasons McDonalds take very serious measures to insure that customers are satisfied with their product value, and to insure that they conduct a market research to find out what customers would spend regularly at McDonalds and what kind of products they like to see introduced and what they should be priced at. McDonalds also consider who their customers are and what their requirements are.

Most of McDonalds customers are low/middle income who cannot afford to pay that much for there food especially in this economic situation, so they do not set their prices to high to put them off McDonalds.

McDonalds cater for a large sector of group of people men, woman, children, businesspersons, families. For children they organize birthday parties, you can ring up McDonalds and book to do a birthday party. They also sell the happy meal, which is one of their major sales and is aimed at little children as it comes with bright packaging and with little gifts and toys for them. For buisnemen, they provide them with wifi, which gives them an incentive to stay and use it to carry on their work they are doing, which probalaly will result in them buying something to eat from McDonalds.

There is many ways in which customers can find out about new products that are coming out they can go on the official McDonalds website or they can watch the TV, MacDonald’s is probably one of the of the worlds biggest TV advertiser and they always advertise on TV and also the radio so if you want to know if they are doing any special offers or if there is any products that are coming out so just watch TV and it will certainly come on peak time view which is around 7-8 clock.

McDonald’s also consider the change of lifestyle within people and change of fashion, for example people are taking more and more care about their health and what they eat as they want to stay healthy, also the government is advising people to eat more healthier and McDonalds have countered that by introducing fruit packs, salads other healthy option to satisfy their customers and grab new customers who are mainly healthy/sporty who do not eat much junk food.

Also by doing this, they reached into another target market, which is the women target. More and more women are taking care of their shape and do not want eat calorie-filled food, so by introducing the salad you give them an intensive to go and buy from McDonalds when they are coming home from work or while they are bringing the children for happy meal, this is great stride for McDonalds as this will generate a lot of extra profit and increase their customer base.

McDonalds have also tried to change with fashion, for example, they are now refurbishing most of their restaurants they are trying to make it look more modern and fashionable and not like fast food shop. They are trying to satisfy there customers and make them happy and enjoy the experience at McDonalds which then gives them an incentive to tell people how good it was and for them to come again.

McDonald’s conduct a lot of market research to find out what their customers want and what their feedback is about the experience they had at McDonalds, They use a lot of techniques for example customer cards which are placed in store and for the customer to come and write about any complaints and any good thing he endured thru out his visit to McDonalds, this could be used to specify any problems customers endure thru their visit to McDonalds and what measures could be taken to sort it out.

McDonalds also has a customer feedback section on their website for customers to come and write their experience and what they thought of it, for example on customer wrote: I ordered a chicken wrap and when I received it and it was full of grease, I think this an absolute disgraceful service from McDonalds and I advise nobody to go there again kfc it is much better. These kind of comments are valuable to McDonalds as they do not want to annoy there customers so they will look at that and see if this problem could be resolved.

They also look at what customers want to be added on to the menu for example, healthier food. Many people were requesting healthier food also pressure from the government caused McDonalds to take serious acts and introduce healthy food, this is a brilliant example of how McDonalds use customer feedback to keep their customers satisfied and happy, and to know what their needs are and what they want.
