His hands begin to shake at the thought of not having the right answer. 1. Attending meetings. 2. not having correct answer, loss of control (shaking) He has low self esteem or self worth. He shows signs of nervousness, lack of control and low self worth. He could prepare for the meeting by going over the information to be discussed. Lori was married eight months ago, is expecting her first child in five months, and just started a new job after finishing her graduate degree. She has to many things going on at one time, new job, new marriage, and new baby on way . She is taking on too much in a short amount of time. She is causing stomach pain by taking on too much. She could learn some ways of coping, reduce the amount of responsibility. By taking on too much she is causing a health issue and would be beneficial to the baby as well as herself. She could stand back and look at her priorities and slow down some.

By picking and choosing what is more important, she can help back away from something to slow down or work part-time. Dalene feels paralyzed with two choices: (a) stay in a job where the boss is overbearing and abusive, but where she has a steady paycheck or; (b) pursue a business opportunity and risks the security of a steady paycheck. She is facing multiple approach avoidance by asking multiple questions to help with a decision. She is showing signs of fear and indecisive on making a clear choice. She could do a list to show the pros and cons of each job and see which one would be best for her.

I think it’s a healthy way to come to a decision because it would be all on paper and no denying what is right there in front of her. She could discuss with her boss why she feels he is overbearing so she could keep the steady paycheck and look into the other possibility further while seeing if her boss changes his attitude. Harold sees his coworkers as inconsiderate, unsupportive, and lazy. He hates his job. Irrational thinking ( he thinks he is perfect) he hates his jobIt is unhealthy because of all the negativity he feels and could cause health issues and hurt feelings.

He could start looking for a new job that will make him happy or try to fix the one he is at by talking to his co-workers. By talking to his co-workers I think it would be a healthy choice because they may feel he is grumpy and unapproachable since he is unhappy. Harold could go to counseling to see if there is an underlying problem that is causing him to have irrational thinking. He should do a pro and con list to see if it would be worth it to talk to his co-workers before he gives up and changes careers.
