For my career I would like to be a pediatrician. I would like to be a pediatrician because I love to work with kids. I think they are very adorable and they interest me and I love to help them in there needs. A pediatrician is a child’s physician who provides Preventive health maintenance for healthy children, Medical care for children who are acutely or chronically ill. pediatricians focus on babies, children, adolescents, and young adults from birth to age 21 years old. Pediatricians diagnose infections, Genetic defects, Injuries, Malignancies, and Organic diseases and dysfunctions.
Pediatricians are concerned with more than physical well being. They are also involved with the prevention early detection and management of other problems that affect children and adolescents. On average, a clinical pediatrician that works at least 40 hours a week will gross $10,000 to $14,000 a month. A Pediatrician Salary is calculated by the US Government Bureau of Labor Statistics from a variety of sources. Pediatricians work in a number of settings including hospitals, clinics and schools.
The average Pediatrician salary varies depending on the location and the setting. The assumption was made that the Pediatricians reflected here were working an average of 40 hours per week with a total of 2080 hours per year. On an annual basis the average wage is $168,650 The lowest 10% earn $85,850 per year while the upper 10% earn more than $187,000 per year. These salaries are calculated as a mean or median wage. The lowest paid Pediatricians earn less than $85,000 annually while the highest paid Pediatricians earn more than $200,000 per year.
Some factors that drive the lower salary include providers who see fewer patients or work part time as well as those working in rural and impoverished areas. Higher salary data is driven by factors that include providers who have higher case loads, work more hours and work in larger metropolitan areas. To become a pediatrician you have to do 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, and 3 to 5 years of residency. You need a medical degree, plus a residency in pediatrics. That’s about 12 years of school.
Some of the top schools to study at are Stanford University in Stanford California, University Of Washington in Seattle Washington, University Of North Carolina At Chapel Hill, Baylor College Of Medicine, Dartmouth College, Oregon Health and Science University, University of Colorado, University of Michigan, University of North Carolina, University of Rochester, University of Pennsylvania, University of Washington. Some of the best place to work in the United States of America are Southern Ohio Medical Center witch is located in Portsmouth, Ohio, Wamego City Hospital is located in Wamego, Kan. Also some of the top Cities to work in are Modesto, California, Atlanta Georgia, Austin Texas, Phoenix Arizona, and Chicago Illinois. I would be willing to move if my career would required me to move. I would move because I am willing to do anything to achieve my goals and my dreams. It will be worth it once I become someone in life, yes it will be a little hard and it will take time but it will all pay of at the end once I have reached my destination. I am willing to work hard, go to school, and everything else that it would require for me to do. Anything to reach my dreams.
Pediatricians write many prescriptions each day. These prescriptions include medicines ranging from antibiotics and cough and cold medicines to drugs to treat asthma and allergies, and the dosages for most of these medications are determined by a child’s weight. when a Pediatrician writes a prescription for amoxicillin for a child’s ear infection, she has to first consider the child’s weight and the medication’s dosage. For amoxicillin, that standard dosage is 45mg/kg divided in a twice a day dosage. Pediatricians also use math to calculate a child’s rate of intravenous fluids.
There are many other calculations that Pediatricians do on a regular basis when taking care of their patients. Once of the most well known of these calculations is the one used to calculate a child’s body mass index, which can help determine if they are overweight, underweight, or at a healthy weight. Pediatricians need to use math for many things. For example, in medicine, calculations are done using the metric system, so pediatricians need to know how to convert measurements. Also, to give out dosages, they need to use math. Body mass index is also another reason they need math. Many more things have math involved.
Calculus is the most widely spread math course required for admittance into the specialized medical program of pediatrics. Calculus is the strand of math that is based upon limits, functions, derivatives, integrals and infinite series. Medicine is a field that is heavily influenced by calculations. There are several math classes that must be completed before becoming a pediatrician. I learned many things about my future profession doing this assignment. For example I learned that to be a pediatrician you have to learn math. Also learned where are the best schools to study to become a pediatrician.
The thing that interested me the most was how much a pediatrician earns. I learned that they don’t only work with children but also adolescents. My 10 year plan is to first finish high school. I am a junior this year and going to be a senior next year. I plan to graduate with my class of 2014. In order for me to graduate and reach my goal I have to work hard, do all my work, projects, to make good grades and to stay on task. After I leave and graduate high school, I plan to go to college. I’m not sure yet what college I would like to attend but I am looking forward to looking up colleges or even getting accepted to many colleges.
I would like to attend college and get me a decent job, and live a normal college girl life. I want to attend college in either California, Florida, or Atlanta Georgia. Also, I see myself finishing college and becoming a pediatrician. One I finish college and get my degree to become a pediatrician I will get my own apartment with a roommate. I wouldn’t see myself married until I am 28. I would first like to succeed and focus on my career. At the end I know I will be living my dreams and becoming a pediatrician like I have always wanted to. I cant wait to become a pediatrician and achieve my dreams.
