Da Yu was a mystical eastern hero who existed in the 200 BC. He is acknowledged for his contribution towards the controlling of floods in China. On the other hand, Wonder Woman is a western superhero from the DC comics who had powers to do the unthinkable to save the lives of people. The first similarity between the two heroes is that they both had supernatural powers. Da Yu’s powers to control the floods was believed to originate from the gods. On the other hand, the Wonder Woman’s powers included a magical-lasso and super human strength, granted to her by the Greek gods, which she used to help people out of problems. Da Yu joined war four days after his wedding, and he did not return home until after thirteen years when his quest was over. His absence from home did not go well with his people.
On the other hand, wonder woman‘s mother had objected her joining the contest to the “Man’s World,” but she defied andjoined the contest. Therefore, both heroes used their powers against the will of their people. Moreover, both heroes played an important role in bringing hope to their people during an infinite crisis. Da Yu took his time to look for a lasting solution to the floods which had threatened the lives of people for long. His father had spent his whole life looking for a solution to the floods but failed severally, but Da Yu managed to construct canals and dredgers. On the other hand, she saved her people by killing a worldwide villain called Maxwell Lord. Maxwell was known for his dangerous act controlling minds.
Thus, the heroes both saved the lives of their people, there are several differences between Da Yu and Achilles which are based on the use of their powers and what drives them to achieve their goals. Da Yu fought against natural occurrence, the floods, His father had started trying to control the floods but failed, and when he was an adult, Da Yu continued his father’s work. Thirteen years later, he managed to control the floods. On the other hand, Achilles was fighting against human enemies from the other kingdom. He was fighting against people who were rivals to his kingdom. In the accomplishment of his work of controlling the floods, Da Yu was driven by the spirit of saving his people, Although there were supernatural powers that gave him knowledge on how to tackle the floods, he had the passion and likeness for his people.
He forgot his interests of his family; he passed his family three times despite his wife giving birth to a baby boy. On the other hand, Achilles was driven by, supernatural powers and immortality that got into him when his mother bathe him in the Yellow river. Moreover, Da Yu’s great work and heroism saw him become a great founder of the Xia Dynasty By coincidence, rulers were chosen based on their ability to deliver at the time, and thus the great skills of hard work shown by Da Yu proved to his people that he was an excellent leader with good management skills. Achilles fought all his life until his death, and he did not rouse to any leadership position beyond leading troops during the war.
