The career that I am most interested in learning more about is: Art Director

Part Two – Research – Use complete sentences.

Identify and give a brief description of the career.

It is a career where you oversee everybody art projects.

What degree (and in what subject area) or other credential is required to have this career?

I need a Bachelors Degree for this career. I will need to have experience in graphic design, art, and multimedia.

What is the job outlook locally (Raleigh-Durham area), in North Carolina, AND nationally? (Job outlook is the projected growth or decline in the number of jobs available. Number of anticipated openings and any other information about the future of this job can be included)

What is the salary range for this career? Include the entry-level salary as well as the salary for someone with experience.

What skills and abilities should someone with this career possess?

What kind of schedule would someone in this career work? Schedule includes not only the number of hours a person works, but also when someone works: day, evenings, nights, or weekends.

What is the work environment like for people in this career? Work environment includes both the physical environment (inside/outside, sitting at a desk/physically demanding) as well as the interpersonal environment (is it mostly solo work, in a team, facing the public, etc.)?

Part Three – Reflection

Discuss your results for the assessments. What are your results? Do you think your Holland code is accurate? Why or why not? Be sure to explain WHY you agree or disagree, not simply that you DO disagree or not. Why did you select the work values and skills that you did? Use this space to demonstrate that you understand your Holland Code, work values, and skills.

Explain why this career is of interest to you. What initially drew you to this career? What did you learn about the career that was the most interesting or surprising?

The reason this career was of interest to me is because I want to express my creativity in the field of art. What drew me to this career was I want to teach others to express their creativity so that they can do better in the future. What I learned about this career is that I can teach people to improve on their artwork so they can succeed once they graduate from college and pursue their career in this field. This career can allow me to connect with others.

Third, based on your self-assessment results and the detailed information about the career, do you believe this career is a good fit for you? Why or why not? Be specific. Make sure you discuss your self-assessment results and how they support (or don’t support) your career choice. You might consider what aspects of this career would be easy for you to meet and what would be more difficult.

I believe that this career fits well with me because I have been doing artwork ever since I was a kid and I have always wanted to show people that I have what it takes to be an artist and to teach other to become great artists as well. When I become an art director I want to show people the aspects of “designing, as well as show them the types of concepts in fine arts, and to teach them how to manage people when it comes to art.” I believe that people can express 2 things: Imagination and emotions, and with these we can visualize everything on paper, computer, or on a canvas.
