Maroubra and Kogarah are of two Sydney suburbs in Australia. Maroubra is a beach suburb while Kogarah is a residential one. There are similarities and differences between these two suburbs. This report will compare and contract information on aspects and features of people, housing and services. There are some similarities and differences in people. As for population, Maroubra has 26500 people whereas Kogarah has only 10900 people. The two suburbs have the largest age group from 20 years old to 39 years old which has nearly 32% for both.
Regarding background and country of origin, the number of immigrant in Kogarah is two time more than that in Maroubra (14% and 7% respectively). However, Maroubra has more people were born in Australia than in Kogarah. The housing of the two suburbs differs greatly in median house price and apartment price. In term of transport, Maroubra does not have train service while Kogarah has one which takes the travellers 25 minutes to go to city. With respect to retail, shopping center, small shops and cafes also have in both two suburbs, but the shopping mall in Maroubra is bigger in size than in Koagrah.
On the other hand, small shops and cafes in Maroubra are on major roads, those in Koagrah are near train station. As for hosptals , many private clinics and major hospital are located in both two suburbs, but it takes three minutes to go to major hospital in Maroubra. Regarding education facilities, in Kogarah is more developed than that in Maroubra. For distance, Kogarah has four public schools and one college while Maroubra just has three public schools and no college. However,the number of private school in Maroubra is more than in Kogarah ( five and two respectively).
