F&N Beverages Marketing SDN.BHD. Malaysia, have 5 Functional department. First, they have Production and Manufacturing department where this department will deal with the planning, development and production of product and services and control the flow of production in the company. The second is functional department is Finance department in which they will keep track on the firm’s financial assets and fund flows. Third, they have Human Resource Department where they maintain their employees records, track employee skills, job performance, and training, and support planning for employee compensation and career development. The forth is Sales and marketing Department where this department help their company to identify customer for the firm’s products or services, develop product and services to meet customers’ needs, promote the products and services and provide ongoing customer support.
Lastly, they have Logistic department. Logistic department is the complete process involving planning, managing and controlling the flow of goods and services, information, real-time data and human resources from the point of origin to the point of destination. The logistic department will be handling several aspects in the company such as material handling, warehousing, information, transportation, packaging and inventory. The primary duty of Logistic department in F&N is to ensure the geographical repositioning of unfinished goods and concerned with the finished inventories of the organization being at the required place at the lowest possible cost. They are entrusted with responsibility to maintain and develop the entire logistic process according to the goal of the business at an economical cost.
The F&N Company have 23 sales offices and they are divided into five regions that is North, Central, South, East Coast, and East Malaysia. In the north, there are Butterworth, Penang, Ipoh, and Alor Setar. Shah Alam, Kuala Lumpur, Seremban, and Mentakab are on the Central. Malacca, Johor Bahru, Kluang, and Batu Pahat in the South. Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Bahru in the East Coast. In East Malaysia, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau,and Lahad Datu are located at Sabah, and Kuching, Sibu, Sarikei, Bintulu and Miri are located in Sarawak. F&N Beverage Marketing Sdn.Bhd. has many type of customers. From the information we found, they are divided into two part that is modern trade and general trade. This is to make the job of the sales department easier in recognizing their customers. F&N Beverage Marketing Sdn.Bhd. does not sell their product directly to their customers. They will send their product to the distributors such as Dat Tung, Sebor and some other distributor company. This is so they don’t mix up their customers. Modern Trade customers is where F&N Beverage Marketing Sdn.Bhd will supply their products to big standardized customers such as hypermarkets, supermarkets, and some big company that helps sell their products. They also supply their products to main branches of Fast foods company such as KFC and Pizza Hut. General Trade customers is where F&N Beverage Marketing Sdn.Bhd will supply the products to small company such as groceries store, café, restaurants, and other smaller companies that help sells the products. This is where F&N Beverage Marketing Sdn.Bhd will provide a refrigerator with the F&N logo to set up on these smaller companies. F&N Beverage Marketing Sdn.Bhd also do sponsorships for activities and events such as sports day, recycling day, school events, charity and many more. F&N Beverages Marketing Sdn. Bhd. Malaysia, produce two types of drinks. One is soft drink and another is Dairies. Soft drinks consist of 7 types which is 100Plus, F&N fun flavor, F&N fruit tree, F&N seasons, F&N ice mountain, Red Bull and OISHI Green Tea( partnership with Japan OISHI company). For F&N Dairies, they produce F&N sweetened condensed milk and F&N evaporated milk. In Malaysia, F & N Beverages Marketing Sdn. Bhd. consists of 5 categories of product: PET bottle, tetra pack, can, glass bottle and syrup bottle. PET bottle has different volume which involves 1.5litre, 600ml and 500ml. The brand such as 100plus, F&N Fun Flavours, Seasons Tea, F&N Fruit Tree and F&N Ice Mountain are packing in 1.5litre and 500ml. For the F&N Ice Mountain is produced in PET bottle 1.5litre and PET bottle 600ml in Peninsular Malaysia, and Pet bottle 500ml in East Malaysia. In the tetra pack category, most of the drinks are non-carbonated. Tetra pack has produce 1litre and 250ml. F&N Season is only one of the brand that packing in tetra pack. F&N Season Soya Bean and Chrysanthemum can found in the 1litre and 250 tetra pack. For the F&N Season Tea, Ice Lemon Tea also has sales in 250ml tetra pack because of its famous and the need of customer. Can of drinks is most common product seen in the F&N Beverage Marketing Sdn. Bhd. This is because all the brand is packing in the can exclude F&N Ice Mountain. Product of can includes 325ml, 300ml and 250ml. 100Plus, F&N Fun Flavours and F&N Fruit Tree is packing in 325ml whereas F&N Season is packing in 300ml. For the 250ml can is only available in the brand of Redbull. Glass bottle is only design for Redbull brand. Redbull is packing in 150ml glass bottle. F&N Cordial is produced in Syrup Bottle which is 2litre. F&N Cordial consist 5 of flavours to customer : Orange, Rose Syrup, Sarsaparilla, Rootbear and grape.
Process department will group activities on the basis of product or service or customer flow. Because each process requires different skills, process departmentalization allows homogenous activities to be categorized. F&N Beverage Marketing Sdn. Bhd. produces pet bottle in Sabah. There are four production parts. First one is Cold Room. Cold Room is the place where to put the raw materials. The raw materials are from F&N Interflauine Ptc.Ltd which located at Singapore. This Cold Room must maintain in 4 degree Celsius. This is to slow down the bacteria growth. Second , Syrup Room is also one of the important parts. Syrup Room is the place where to mix up the raw materials and the syrup to produce drinks. It can produce 10,000 litre per day. Therefore, there are three engineering which are process engineering work at this part of the process. There are two type of drinks which produce at this factory. One of the drinks is 100 Plus which use special energy sugar to produce 4 types of flavor which are 100 Plus Original, 100 Plus Lemon Lime, 100 Plus Tangy Tangerine and 100 Plus Aqtiv. Another drink is F&N soft drink which now are slowly decrease the sugar. Third is the Filler Room which are also counts as an important part in the process to produce drinks. Filler Room is the place where for filler, labeler, cap and put carbon dioxide (CO2) into the drinks. Filler is a process that fill the mixture of drinks into the bottle. Labeler is a process that create different type of labels for different flavor of drinks. Cap is where they close the bottle tightly after they fill the drinks with carbon dioxide(gas). After the drinks are done, it will be send to the shipping department where they will send it to the distributors to be distributed to the customers.
