The Hunger Games is a novel made by Suzanne Collins, in which the main plot is that every year 12 districts need to offer as tributes two teenagers, to fight to death until one of them wins. Peeta and Katniss are chosen form District 12 in order to fight for their lives in the Hunger Games.
I am writing this assignment in order to create an alternative part of the story that the author has not exploit that much. This time I chose the part of the book “The Hunger Games” in which Haymitch convince the sponsors for Katniss and Peeta. In order to help them both survive to the Hunger Games.
This writing will give a more extended explanation of how Haymitch deals and talks to convince people to be Katniss and Peeta’s sponsors in order to send them supplies and other things they need to survive.
The format of my creative writing will be as a story. I think this format is good for this kind of writing because I can explain how he feels, and I can make dialogues between characters.
Creative Writing:
It was just the first day. The Hunger Games have just started. Haymitch was watching carefully every step that Peeta and Katniss were making. The days were passing by and neither of them were hurt, until Haymitch saw through the big screen that Katniss got burnt by a giantball of fire. Haymitch heart struggle, he felt a big tremor inside himself and started to pray so that Katniss would not die. He knew he need to do something.
At the next day he saw that Katniss was still hurt, so he went to the capitol and plan to get some sponsors to send her some supplies and avoid her death. He saw in a round table an old person, he knew that was an easy prey. Rapidly he approach to talk to the old man. At first he ask if he could make a donation for one of the tributes, but the man said “Why should I? I like people being kill”. In that momentHaymitch was so mad, he was struggling for not punching the old man in the face. He knew he need a sponsor really fast. Haymitch told the man that by helping Katniss he could see more blood, because she was excellent with the bow, and could shoot someone in the head. Haymitch was transpirating a lot, he had never spoke as dirty like that, he felt sick of himself. Finally, the old man said Haymitch that he would consider his offer.
Haymitch went to his house stressed out and really uncomfortable with the talk he has just had. Later on, Haymitch was called by the old man who told him that he would send the supplies to Katniss. In that moment haymitch was full of joy, his hope about making Katniss survive was still alive. His hands were dry again, his throat stop hurting and his. head stop hurting. He knew he had just safe one life, or at least help her of an imminent death.
Haymitch was so amused about what he has just done that he did not even remember that he had also another persona to look after, Peeta.
