Statement of the Problem

The endangered species panda are nearly becoming extinct.

Gather Data

Pandas inhabited China for centuries; but because of the fast urbanization of the country and deforestation in the lowlands, they have been forced to move to the mountain ranges. They inhabit damp forest in those mountains. These forests have a dense number of bamboos and also have heavy rains and thick mist.

Pandas have a difficulty in mating and it has a low rate of success. Low frequency of ovulation is observed in females in which only once a year in spring it happens. An infamous lack of interest towards females in heat is demonstrated by males. A female Panda will give birth to a cub after 96 to 100 days if the courtship is successful. These cubs will open their eyes after six to eight weeks, the mother panda will take care their young for three year and after three years the young panda will be venturing out in the wild.

The lack of food source is one of the threats that Pandas are facing. The large competition with Bamboo Rats who eat the roots of the bamboo and kill the plant afterwards affect the source of food of the panda. The deforestation or the destruction of the habitats that leads to destroying the source of food of the panda can lead them to starvation and to death as well.

The greatest threat to these panda is the activities of man. The said activities above that lead to the endangerment of the panda were all done by man. Man also hunts panda for fun and for money.

Hypotheses

The species of panda can be saved if we can discipline ourselves.

We must not destroy their habitat and instead of destroying it, we need to try to help in rebuilding it.

Designate protected areas in where no man can enter this area with out the permission of the authority.

Educate the ethnic people around the vicinities of the panda.

Predicted outcomes of the Hypotheses

The species of panda will not be lessen in number but still continues to grow with the help of man and its knowledge about the situation.

Rebuilding their habitats can help to ensure their safety and can assure them that their food is sufficient for them to survive.

Designating protected areas can assure the panda that no man can harm them and they are safe with in that vicinity.

Educating the ethnic people can lead them to understanding what the real situation is all about. Educating them can help them to be at ease with panda and try not to harm them as well.

Test of Scenario

Based on my research, my entire hypothesis was tested in China. The result was still unsatisfactory because deforestation is still happening in China and the increase of population of the panda is still slow. If only man will cooperate with this project panda can be saved.

Theory

The Loss of Panda in numbers is due to man’s greed. If man’s greed can be avoided then the species of panda can be saved.
