From the beginning of the early times of Industrialization in the United States. Fracking has been a major part in the gas and oil industry since 1857 that is over a hundred years ago. In addition Hydrualic fracking started in 1949 by Floyd Farris. Fracking extracts these resources for use it deplits the enviroment of it natural resources. Now is the time for change for our enviromenxt. Every year the United States drills more holes into the earth, only crippling the environment across the United States, and we should be using a smaller quantity of water and patching up methane leaks.
Fracking is the process where the company start off by chosing a vast location, then start setting up the equipment. After that they lay the metal plating casing into the ground straight down, this process prevent leaks and cracks. Then a seven-inch drill will be plunged into the ground for a mile or two till it hits the shale and sandstone level.Then one or two miles horizontaly in the sanstone layer. Once the six-inch layered sandstone is drilled out, then they lay a plug between the broken sanstone and the shale. They send small metals balls down the pipe to create sleeves in the pipe in order for the high pressurized water process called hydrualic fracking. The high pressured water is sent down the pipe and expand into the shale causing it to break up once they hydrualic process is over the oil is extracted back up the pipe bringing the harmful chemicals up with it.
Pollution is a big negative part in fracking first of all.The fuel used throughout the fracking process is diesel. The machine that uses diesel is for pumping the high pressurized water through the pipes. Diesel that already has a bad reputation from the emissions the diesel powered machine give off. In 2015 there was to be known that one-point-seven million drilling wells in the United states.There is twelve to eighteen diesel pumps for every drilling site. Therefore that is twenty million and four hundred thousands machine just for the lowest case of twelve for each site. That puts off a enormous amount of emission that can harm the enviroment. A study found Diesel exhaust has been classified a potential human carcinogen by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the International Agency for Research on Cancer.
Then during the high pressurized water process water is being pumped it is being mixed with hyrdochloirc acid. Which is used to help clear out sediments and help bore out the shale. Hydrochloric acid just tears down anything including our everyday minerals such as corbonates dolostone and commonly used sanstone. In addition, it can impair humans and other organisms around us. Fracking sites how a tremendous quanity of hydrochloric acid at the site. According to state impact in Pennslyvania “4,700 gallons of hydrochloric acid spilled at a Leroy Township, Bradford County well pad operated by Chief Oil and Gas”. The fracking site has to located near a high volume water source or a temporary storage tank. Which taking from a high volume source of water would kill the inhabints in that body of water. In addition it deplits the nutrients and soil, where the water gives the ground with water bitotic organisms are not there anymore no plants, no trees, and most importantly no animals because just as humans need water so, do they. Therefore we need to reuduce the amount of water need for the fracking process to perseve our freshwater ponds and especially the inhabints of that area. Waste disposal is also another concern for the enviroment it the process after the oil and gas has been brung back to the top.
