Autobiography of Leonardo DiCaprio

Table of Content

Leonardo DiCaprio is a well-established actor who has made quite an impact in the film industry. He was born on November 11, 1974 in Los Angeles, California and just recently turned 39. Leonardo grew up as an only child to parents George and Irmelin DiCaprio who quickly noticed his talent and aspiration to be different. They immediately signed Leonardo with a talent agent and he began appearing in commercials at the mere age of 5. As a child, Leo was a ball of energy; sometimes he would be kicked off of a project for being too disruptive! Despite being a little ornery, Leonardo’s talent was undeniable. He had a knack for acting, being in front of the camera, and being someone else entirely without a second glance. It was obvious from the start that he was going somewhere. After appearing in multiple commercials, Leonardo began auditioning for smaller roles in sitcoms and movies. One of Leonardo’s first projects was appearing in a TV show called ‘Growing Pains’ as a homeless boy, giving him some much deserved attention.

Following the numerous small roles, Leonardo was cast in ‘What’s eating Gilbert Grape’, a powerful movie about a boy struggling with a mental illness and his older brother, (played by Johnny Depp) who is getting tired of taking care of him. This heart wrenching movie was one that helped launch Leo into a serious acting career; even being nominated for an Academy Award (Oscar). And of course we are all aware of Leo’s most recognizable piece, ‘The Titanic’, which gained him the mass majority of his fame. Soon after the movie’s release, Leonardo DiCaprio dove into more challenging roles that would further enhance his credibility. People recognized him a one of those gifted actors that could make even the dullest of scenes come to life. He has even starred and worked with such actors and directors as Robert DeNiro, Martin Scorsese, George Clooney, and Christopher Nolan. Throughout Leonardo’s exciting and immensely watched career, he has continued to be genuine and humble. Interviewers and fans that have met him rave that he is a really nice guy, one who is really in touch with himself and those around him, unlike many of the other famous actors.
