American’s think in many different ways about the way they think about what it means to be an American. I think the way I do because I have been told stories about September 11, 2001 and about how it felt like the world stopped turning. I have also heard that it was just a normal day until a plane crashed into the Twin Towers and killed many people. September 11th was a hard day I was told all around the world everyone was just having a good day until this happened many people died and many people still suffer from this. Americans are strong we can persevere through everything thrown at us.
Americans have gone through a lot in the last decade but, September 11th was the hardest yet. I have been told that 9/11 was just a bad thing for everyone. As soon as it happened everyone was just devastated about how such a beautiful building was falling on top of them destroyed in an instance. My sister was in the 6th grade when this happened as soon as it happened she said that all the teachers turned on the TV’s and they watched the news all day in honor or those who died. Everyone who survived is still suffering a disease from that day.
On September 11th my parents said it felt like everyone was died the only noise across the world was the wind blowing because it affected everyone. At the Madill Fire they have a flag that has the names that was a public servant that died that day. My parents and I have visited the 9/11 museum and it was very sad there was things that happened that was impossible. At the museum there was a photo of before and after and in the before there was a lot of material but, when it collapsed it was just very little but they said it took nine months to clean it up. After the nine months they didn’t rebuild the Twin Towers they replaced it with the World Trade Center.
I think the way I do is because of the things I have been told that has happened in America and I base that on how I think. It is known as the most deadliest attack since Pearl Harbor. My parents said that it was an awful day that everyone that they saw on the news was just devastated about what happened. Americans after that was so mad about what happened and they wanted Osama Bin Laden killed after what he had done to America. America since that happened has changed the way Americans think about the way illegal immigrants do our country.
This year was the 18th anniversary of 9/11 and it was hard for people all over the world because it affected everyone that was alive. As the years go on the more people will be affected more by what they saw. I believe that Americans will be more scared as the years go one because they might think something bad will happen. Americans over the years have forgotten that 9/11 could happen any day and they should be grateful for everything. Americans are so ungrateful and they don’t realize that just just because you don’t hear about it doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.
The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge structures collapsing, have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness, and a quiet, unyielding anger. These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat. But they have failed; our country is strong. Today, our nation saw evil, the very worst of human nature. And we responded with the best of America—with the daring of our rescue workers, with the caring for strangers and neighbors who came to give blood and help in any way they could. Americans will now have something to remember America by. The United State Government has a annual assembly every year on 9/11 to honor those who died.
