Over the past term I read Mario Puzo’sThe Godfather. The book itself is an action packed offense novel that revolves around the Corleone offense household.

The chief character in this book is Michael Corleone. the Godfather’s boy. Michael was introduced in the novel as a immature adult male in his mid-twentiess who did non desire to be involved with the household concern. The book reveals that Michael enrolled in college to go a attorney in order to get away the household. Michael ends up dropping out of college and enlists in the Marine Corps to contend in the Pacific even with his father’s scruples. Michael was awarded a Navy Cross for courage and was so discharged in 1945 to retrieve from conflict. later run intoing his hereafter married woman Kay Adams.

In 1945 after a failed tryst effort on Michael’s male parent Vito Corleone. Michael is thrown back into the universe he had avoided for so long and voluntaries to kill both work forces responsible. After he murdered the two work forces Michael fled to Sicily and whilst in Sicily. Michael discovers that his senior brother Sonny has been murdered. Michael returns to New York where he becomes to the full associated with the household and involved in the condemnable endeavor. A twelvemonth subsequently Michael marries Kay Adams and in 1954 his male parent Don Corleone retires doing Michael the new Don ( Head of the household ) .

My favorite character in the book is Michael Corleone. a quiet and intelligent adult male. At the start of the book Michael didn’t want to be involved in his family’s concern and the turn that I loved in the book was that this pick was taken off from him. I think this made Michael a more interesting character.

Overall I truly liked this book and would urge it to anyone that wants a good read and is interested in the Mafia. It’s a great offense thriller with tonss of turns and really tricky quotation marks. such as “I’m gon sodiums make him an offer he can’t garbage. ” The book was a antic read and I will be reading the subsequence. I would rate this book 4/5 for its fascinating secret plan and the sum of item that went in to depicting all the characters and scenes.
