The flocks of sheep are a welcoming sight to Kazuya: a lone fisherman struggling to get to the path.Jin, the brother of Kazuya, awaits his arrival in the small fishing shack in the valley. The potent smell of raw, discarded fish overwhelms Jin’s senses so he waits outside under the watchful eyes of the Aonach Eagach.Kazuya, now on the path outside the run down shack questions, “Any buyers?””Nope, not today and probably not ever,” replies Jin.

“Why do we even try?” wonders Kazuya.”We can’t make a decent living out of this business, we need something other than cod and haddock” argues Jin.”What fish can we sell instead?” said Kazuya.A week later Kazuya and Jin still had no sells.

They needed a way of getting out, a way of freeing them from this endless slavery.Kazuya realised his dreams of fishing on the open ocean were closing. His lifetime dream shattering before his eyes, but the pointed peak of the Aonach Eagach gave him an idea. He realised the big money was in the big fish, Marlin: but marlins are found in the open ocean.

His dreams, as big as the ocean are soon to be filled with reality just as the ocean is full of water.Obviously there are still queries like the fact that neither Kazuya nor Jin can sail. The answer to the problem came in the form of a young British sailor.Bryan Fury was an eager fisherman always aiming to go the extra mile.

He was raised in the heart of Britain, London, but he became sick of city life and moved south to Cornwall. This for him was a welcome relief. He immediately took up sailing and this became a passion and an addiction. But his passion became his danger, as he sailed out into the English Channel a powerful current propelled him as easy as a bow pushes an arrow.

Kazuya and Jin Mishima admire Bryan’s sailing ability, his power, skill and strength; his courage, passion and communication. Ten years of struggle and heartbreak just blown away in Bryan’s sails. After another two weeks of suffering and preparation they were ready. This was to be the biggest journey in all they’re lifetime.

The ship named Virgo was grand. The stern of the boat was as large and commanding as a shark is to a goldfish. The mammoth sails were laced with the finest silk there ever was. It was predicted that it would take two days to get to the correct position, to catch the marlin going over mountainous waves, through the strongest winds and the most powerful current.

Just leaving the dock on the Virgo, they can slowly see the Isle of Skye slowly go down into the distance. The waves progressively getting larger, hit the boat with extreme force. Its huge under belly pushes through the water like a child wades through the sea and it rocks side to side like a cradle rocks in the wind. On the horizon Jin spots a nightmarish storm with horrendous lighting the clouds crash together, like the symbols crashing after each riff.

Bryan struggles to keep her on course. The next day the clouds have cleared and the ocean has calmed. “Did you have a rough night?” asked Jin.”Yeah” replied Kazuya.

“What food do we have?” Jin said. Kazuya reaches over to the cupboard and looks inside”Not much” says Kazuya.Bryan, being British, has an alien accent compared to Kazuya’s Scottish accent. He shouts out “just a few more hours!”Jin and Kazuya immediately prepared the small fishing boat to catch the marlin.

The harpoon is as tall as a human and almost as dangerous. The fishing rod was made of a strong hardwood that could withstand hundreds of kilograms to its tip and still work just as efficiently. The anchors now lowered. They prepare to put the smaller fishing boat into the merciless water.

One after the other they jump in. They prepare their equipment as the final hurdle is to be set. They wait hours on end for the magic moment, their whole career resting on their shoulders but no hope; they start to get restless and bored. Suddenly a tight pull throws Kazuya forward, water gushes up from all sides as the graceful marlin leaps out of the water.

But not for long. It unhooks and swims away. Another hour passed with no exciting catches. The evening soon becomes dusk and dusk becomes night, but the three fishermen don’t give up without a fight.

Once again the line gets pulled, but no great excitement and once again the marlin leaps from the ocean. Slash! The nose of the huge antagonistic fish pierces his skin like a knife through butter. Bryan’s voice moans and screeches for only a minute but feels like a lifetime. His whole future at sea shines before him as a blurry mess of fear and pain.

After the initial strike the marlin goes back into the water but vaults back and strikes Bryan once more, this time throwing him into the deep ocean. With no knowledge of sailing or where they were, they were stuck, forever. Jin being the younger brother was more emotional than Kazuya as they realise they were stranded with little food or drinkable water. They couldn’t get off the empty ship, and once again they’re lifelong ambition shattering, the ocean prepared to claim another victim.
