If I am able to establish my own Nurse Practitioner practice, I have the opportunity to hire individuals who share the belief that compassion for the public is a crucial aspect of providing proper healthcare. Nursing is a dynamic and rapidly expanding field, offering a plethora of career options. For example, I can choose to work in either a Kindergarten through twelfth-grade school or a regional hospital. Alternatively, I might prefer working in a military camp or within a nursing home. Additionally, I can determine whether I will work morning shifts, evening shifts, or afternoon shifts. Ultimately, I have the capacity to not only assist others but also achieve financial stability for myself.

I am currently experiencing financial stress and having a higher income would help alleviate it. I have witnessed my mother struggle and live paycheck to paycheck throughout my life. Nursing is an ideal career choice as it provides competitive salaries and there is a consistent demand for healthcare professionals in both the United States and globally due to shortages. Pursuing education is essential for me because it opens up new opportunities and enables me to acquire valuable skills that I otherwise wouldn’t be able to develop. An example of this is being eligible for work study programs.

Throughout my college years, I am fortunate to have a job that offers flexible hours, enabling me to manage both work and studying effectively. Additionally, this job allows me to engage in numerous social events both on and off campus. These events provide valuable networking opportunities with influential professionals who are relevant to my desired career field. Establishing connections with such individuals may potentially lead to job or internship prospects in the future.

Above all, what truly drives me in my education is the chance it presents for me to offer care and support to individuals throughout their entire health journey – from prevention measures before they fall ill all the way through their recovery process. This aspect of my studies greatly motivates me and reinforces my dedication towards achieving academic excellence.

Becoming a nurse is my motivation and ultimate goal, and my courses are preparing me for this aspiration. For instance, my critical thinking class improves my problem-solving skills by encouraging me to think creatively. Moreover, my Chemistry class introduces me to the various elements on the Periodic Table, offering unique learning opportunities. Furthermore, completed classes have broadened my perspectives on both the world and my future career path. One of these standout classes is Psychology, which has become a recent personal favorite.

Psychology provided a significant insight for me. In the classroom, I gained access to observing people in their natural environment. I no longer had a single perspective; I could delve into the minds of individuals and understand their motivations. Some of my questions about why people behave the way they do were finally being answered, and I found that incredibly intriguing. I hope that Sociology, this semester, will surpass the previous semester’s Psychology in terms of its impact. Whenever I find myself staying up late at night to complete an essay on Nature versus Nurture or when I get stuck on a math problem in College Algebra or Statistics, I will remind myself of the great things I will achieve once I become part of the honorable nursing profession!
