Similarities between Australian Aboriginal and Native Americans Sample

Read Summary
Summary

The term Indigenous refers to a diverse group of people who differ ethnically, culturally, and economically but are supposed to be looked upon as one. Australian Aboriginals and Native Americans have made great strides towards equality in the past 200 years. However, racism and discrimination still exist, and many believe that trying to change it is useless. This is not the case, as evidenced by the progress made by Indigenous people in government, business, and education. The issues associated with Indigenous people are often overlooked or relegated to the back page of the paper. This is because the government wanted to avoid justifying the atrocities they inflicted upon Indigenous peoples. The Europeans settlers’ views of Indigenous spiritual practices also contributed to prejudice and discrimination. The interests of Indigenous peoples must no longer be ignored, and we must work towards viewing the world as one.
