As I reclined on the golden sand, I gazed upon the colorful sky above. The hues of pink and orange resembled the smooth texture of a ripe peach. The setting sun’s radiant glow was reflected in the sparkling blue waves of the sea, surrounded by sloping land on both sides. The landscape flourished with vibrant shades of green, orange, and purple.
Fishermen, resembling vultures, were perched on the boundary of the land, equipped with sticks, eagerly awaiting their prey. Meanwhile, young boys effortlessly ascended the palm trees that were gracefully bending over the edge, in order to gather the fruit and later sell it at their father’s stalls. In the distance, a majestic white cruise ship leisurely sailed along the horizon. As a group of birds gracefully passed by, their wings created a soft shadow on the tranquil ripples of the water.
The little village children’s joyous sounds, the humming birds, and the rhythmic waves created a melodic and soothing atmosphere, filling my ears with sweet joy. As I reached out, I buried my hand in the sand and sifted small worthless stones between my fingers. Among them, I discovered a familiar object – Turkish delight. This smooth stone was almost a perfect cube, delicate and rosy in color. It glistened like dew-drops, revealing a subtle rainbow of colors within its translucent walls when exposed to light.
As the sun set and cast a glowing light on the clouds, I observed that it had become late. There were no fishermen present and the children had already left after playing all day. The appealing scent of grilled meat and chicken, flavored with tangy lemon and chili spices, aroused my senses. This attractive aroma was emanating from the parade, where our village’s famous restaurants were currently serving dinner. With my hunger growing and anticipation rising, I eagerly joined the queue of customers waiting for their meal.
