After graduating, I sought to hone my skills and gain exposure in my chosen field by working as assistant engineer at Tianjin Electrical Apparatus Research Institute, and subsequently, as testing & research engineer at Huawei Mobile Company.  Research and engineering are my passions. My efforts were recognized by the firm through an award as “Excellent Employee” which the company bestowed on me.

I completed my masteral studies in Electrical Engineering and majored in Electrical Theory and New Technology, from at Peking University College of Electrical and Information Engineering.  I obtained a GPA of 3.7/4.0.

I am the type of person who loves to explore and who is not content in letting precious time go to waste, so I took part in the technical design of a low-voltage and low-power analog VLSI by adopting log-domain circuits to implement continuous wavelet transform. Lending support to this program the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Foundation for Hunan’s Distinguished Young Scholars. Teaching, in order to share my knowledge and skills with members of the younger generation, is my other passion.

My overriding goal at present is to complete my doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering at University of California. My area of concentration is the neural and brain imaging. I feel that my current studies can help me chart my future career path. In the meantime, I look forward to applying the skills I have accumulated through years of learning and research both to teaching and to research in the arena of healthcare engineering.

Indeed, I earnestly look forward to giving back to the community the many good opportunities and blessings I have received, including the fellowship. It is truly an immense help in propelling healthcare engineering research to unprecedented levels.

With rapid advances in medical technology in our midst, we in the technical professions are called upon to devise cutting-edge methods and test the effectivity of new product innovations, through continuous research. Computer technology as a tool to see precise locations of some pathways in the brain is not a new phenomenon. Hopefully, my research will uncover how enhanced variations on the standard magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) may be utilized to accurately diagnose early-stage brain disorders and conditions. I am confident that my research on “Human Brain Photo Processing” will set the stage for other significant studies that medical institutions may derive invaluable use from.

I highly appreciate your unwavering support for research efforts in healthcare engineering. Your recognition of my credentials and confidence in my ability to contribute in my own little way to the finetuning of technology for the medical profession are also gratifying and encouraging.
