Born to Run by Christopher McDougall

Table of Content

The book that I decided to read in class was born to run by Christopher McDougall. This book takes place in the copper canyons in a Mexican state called Chihuahua. The main character in this book is Christopher McDougall. In the beginning of the book he is faced with the question why does his feet hurt. He decides to go to a sports doctor who tells him he was not born to run. So instead of giving up he sets out on a journey to find the Tarahumara, who maybe able to answer his question.

In his quest he learned the true meaning of running and why people get so many injuries. Also he was able to help stop his own injuries. This book has a lot of useful information, which can help anyone who reads it. One piece of information that I thought was interesting was how Shoe Company’s are the cause of so many runners’ injuries and shoes have changed the form of human’s feet.

The only thing that I found wrong with the book was in the beginning it could be a little boring, but what book isn’t boring in the beginning. I would recommend this book to any person who likes athletics, journeys, and anyone who has the desire to run. In all I would give this book a five out of five. This book has taught me many lessons about running and how you can do anything if you real want to. It is now one of my top ten favorite books of all time.
