Ever since I was a little girl, living by the water has been a constant in my life. Going down to the jersey shore every day during summer has become routine for me. However, this year I wanted to try something even more thrilling – completely immersing myself in the ocean and sky above by taking a parallel boat ride. The experience was unforgettable, leaving me eager to do it again. Consequently, my boyfriend and I made the decision to embark on our first parallel boat ride this summer, selecting a reasonably spacious boat.
Throughout the entire boat ride, the captains were amicable and kept us entertained with rock music playing on the radio. The energetic music heightened excitement and created a vibrant atmosphere. The fellow passengers were enthusiastic, which helped alleviate any apprehensions I had about my decision. Additionally, the life jackets provided were vivid neon orange, guaranteeing that none of us would be misplaced at sea. This day was a significant milestone in my life, although the journey out to sea caused an uneasy sensation in my stomach akin to incessant poking.
The intense rush of blood in my veins filled me with an indescribable sense of exhilaration as it surged through my entire body. Despite the bumpy waves, which propelled us into the air like bouncing balls, these sensations were incredibly enjoyable. The speed at which we were moving was so extreme that we became soaked from the water splashing overboard. Amidst all the excitement, we even had a moment to slow down and appreciate the awe-inspiring sight of dolphins ahead.
John and I were ready to go up in the sky, fully prepared and connected to the bars. The captain allowed us to depart, and we soared into the air. Personally, it seemed like time was moving slowly. It was amazing to think that soon I would be 500 feet above ground with only a parachute and a boat pulling me along. However, it was an incredible feeling. There was an indescribable sense of freedom, as if I could break free from all of life’s problems. I felt empowered, as if my perspective had expanded to reveal a panoramic view of everything below me.
At that moment, I felt an indescribable sense of safety and security. The choice to parallel was truly extraordinary and left a long-lasting impression on my memory. The exhilaration I experienced, along with the incredible sights it brought me to, are unforgettable memories. Moreover, I am determined to make more cherished memories. Being raised near the water in Jersey, its mere existence has always provided comfort for me. Its capacity to bring joy helps alleviate any concerns I may have had. The excitement within me will forever be ingrained in my mind.
