According to Steve Huey, “Wonder was born Steveland Hardaway Judkins in Saginaw, MI, on May 13, 1950” (np). As a premature infant, he was put in an incubator, with an excess of oxygen that resulted in a visual condition known as retinopathy, causing blindness (Huey np). Steve Huey said that, “He learned piano, drums, and harmonica all by the age of nine” (np). Stevie performed for a few friends in 1961, while being discovered by Ronnie White of the Miracles, who arranged an audition with Berry Gordy at Motown (Huey np).

Steve Huey also said that, “Gordy signed the youngster immediately and teamed him with producer/songwriter Clarence, under the new name Little Stevie Wonder” (np). Stevie covered one of his heroes, Ray Charles, in his first two albums in 1962: A Tribute to Uncle Ray (Huey np). His song “Fingertips, Pt. 2” skyrocketed to the top of both the pop and R&B charts; meanwhile the young genius became Motown’s first chart topping (Huey np). Steve Huey said that, “Wonder charted a few more singles over the next year, but none on the level of “Fingertips, Pt. ” (np). His voice began to change, Wonder’s recording career was temporarily put on hold, he decided to study classical piano at the Michigan School for the blind (Huey np). Steve Huey said that, “1971 brought a turning point in Wonder’s career. On his 21st birthday, his contract with Motown expired, and the royalties set aside in his trust fund became available to him” (np). Stevie did not immediately renew his contract with Motown, as they had expected; instead he used his trust find to build his own recording studio and to attend classes at USC (Huey np).

According to Steve Huey, “Wonder’s marriage to Wright broke up; the two remained friends, however, and Wonder produced and wrote several songs for her debut album” (np). In 1972, “Talking Book” was released and made him a superstar (Huey np). Steve Huey said that, “Wonder topped the charts with the gutsy, driving funk classic “Superstition” and the mellow, jazzy ballad “You Are the Sunshine of My Life,” which went on to become a pop standard; those two songs went on to win three Grammy’s between them” (np). Steve Huey said that, “While being driven to a concert in North Carolina, a large timber fell on Wonder’s car.

He sustained serious head injuries and lapsed into a coma, but fortunately made a full recovery” (np). Stevie retired to his studio and spent two years working on a big project that would be his best creation (Huey np). Steve Huey said that, “Finally released in 1976, Songs in the Keys of Life was a sprawling two-LP-plus-one-EP set that found Wonder at his most ambitious and expansive. Some critics called it brilliant but prone to excess and indulgence, while others hailed it as his greatest masterpiece and the culmination of his career; in the end, they were probably both right” (np).

Steve Huey said that, “the hit ‘Isn’t She Lovely,’ a paean to Wonder’s daughter, became something of a standard” (np). According to Chez Lorraine, “Steve Wonder wrote “Isn’t She Lovely” for his daughter Aisha. This song starts with Aisha crying. I find this a very touchy song (np). ” Despite Being blind Wonder excellently expressed how lovely Aisha was, you can hear the pride and joy of being a father (Huey np). Squidoo. com said that, “The year was 1975. Ecstatic over the birth of his daughter, a twenty-something man was inspired to write a song: “Isn’t she Lovely” (np).

Paul Gambaccini said that, “One outstanding track that did not become a single was “Isn’t She Lovely” (np). Paul Gambaccini also said that, “In 1987, Songs in the Key of Life was chosen by a panel of rock critics and music broadcasters as the #14 rock album of all time” (np). Oprah. com said that, “Stevie: ’Yes. I remember writing “isn’t She Lovely? ”- I can almost cry right now thinking about it. The sound of my daughter Aisha splashing in the bathtub created a picture. That was emotion stuck in a moment, and that can never, ever be taken away’” (np). R. A said that, “The third LP side starts with ‘Isn’t She Lovely? , which would become one of woinder’s all time popular songs” (np). “Isn’t She Lovely Made From Love” I think that this part of the song means that Stevie Wonder and his wife truly loved eachother as they were creating life. “Life Is Aisha” I believe this means that Aisha is the name of Wonder’s daughter and that She is the love of this life, that she is lovely and wonderful. “Londie, It could not have been done” I think this means that Londie was his wife, and without her the birth of their beautiful daughter could not have been done.

Isn’t she lovely Isn’t she wonderful Isn’t she precious Less than one minute old I never thought through love we’d be Making one as lovely as she But isn’t she lovely made from love Isn’t she pretty Truly the angel’s best Boy, I’m so happy We have been heaven blessed I can’t believe what God has done Through us he’s given life to one But isn’t she lovely made from love Isn’t she lovely Life and love are the same Life is Aisha The meaning of her name Londie, it could have not been done Without you who conceived the one That’s so very lovely made from love
