Each place has its own distinct characteristics and attractions that cater to different interests. While some individuals appreciate the beauty of nature, others find fascination in remarkable human creations. Historical and archaeological sites captivate certain people, while places of religious significance draw others in. Personally, the country I perceive as the most exquisite globally is my homeland, ‘Myanmar’. Situated in Southeast Asia, Myanmar was previously recognized as Burma.
Burma, which was previously annexed by the British Empire and included in the Indian colony in 1886, was later returned to British control before gaining independence in 1948. Located in Southeast Asia, Myanmar shares borders with China (north and northeast), Laos and Thailand (east and southeast), Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal (south), as well as India and Bangladesh (west). Its total area spans 678,500 square kilometers, making it the largest country in mainland Southeast Asia and ranking it as the 40th largest globally.
Myanmar, also known as the Golden Land, is a diverse country with 135 national races and a population of over 60 million. It experiences three main seasons: hot, rainy, and cold. Renowned for its golden pagodas and richness in culture, natural beauty, and resources, Myanmar holds great significance. Buddhism is the dominant religion here, with over 80% of the population practicing Theravada Buddhism. As someone who follows Buddha’s teachings, I find solace in them as they reveal the true essence of beauty through peace. This profound affection for my homeland stems from this understanding.
